Nature's Christmas Present

Today I went fishing with my sister at this special spot... and boy was it a blast. I at first caught a small bass that was fine, but then... we went to a new spot and after literally 3 casts, I was using 4 lbs test because it's more fun and I had a big pickerel pulling a ton of drag. Cause my test was so light it took some time to reel the big guy in. He shattered my previous record for biggest pickerel. Sadly, my sister didn't get any good photos but its fine. Less than 5 minutes later, my sister who has never fished that much before ends up hooking a pickerel about 20 inches and weighed about 1.6 lbs. It was great, I hadn't handled any pickerel that big so for mine especially i had issues getting the lure out. Which made me stressed out because I always do my best to cause as little damage to the fish as possible (but they swam away fine:)). The lure I was using I call "old faithful". It was my first lure of my serious fishing career and I caught my first bass and pickerel with it. It's all dinged up, but it still clearly works! Merry christmas! (Fish length measurements are all estimations)
